The USA Cycling Cross-Country Mountain Bike National Series offers cross-country Olympic-style (XCO) and short-track cross-country (XCC) racing. Most of the events on this calendar are UCI-sanctioned, allowing elite riders the opportunity to earn valuable UCI ranking points. Junior riders will have the chance to qualify for the 2024 USA Cycling Cross-Country National Championships in July. Pro teams registered as either a UCI trade team or USA Cycling domestic pro MTB team are also eligible for professional team rankings.
Juniors Nationals Qualification
All Junior events included in the USA Cycling Cross Country Mountain Bike National Series offer participants the opportunity to secure an automatic berth in their respective age-group final at the 2024 USA Cycling Cross-Country National Championships.
Cross-Country Qualifications
There are 120 open cross-country spots at the national championships. The first 100 spots are determined by placing at the Cross-Country National Series and UCI rankings.
In each age group, the top five junior riders at every event in the National Series will secure their places in the finals at Nationals. For events with more than 100 participants in a field, this extends to the top 10 riders.
After allocating spots through automatic berths, the next positions are filled based on UCI rankings points, followed by USA Cycling rankings points. The final 20 spots are then open for determination through on-site qualifiers.
Short Track Qualifications
There are 75 open short-track spots at the national championships. The first 55 spots are determined by placing at the Cross-Country National Series and USA Cycling rankings.
In each age group, the top five junior riders at every event in the National Series will secure their places in the finals at Nationals. For events with more than 100 participants in a field, this extends to the top 10 riders.
After allocating spots through automatic berths, the next positions are filled based on USA Cycling rankings points. The final 20 spots are then open for determination through on-site qualifiers.
